I'm very much aware that it's no longer the Fifties. The point I was making is that absolutely nothing has changed about the coffeehouse scene since the beatniks started it circa 1957. That's damn near 50 years.
I was surprised anybody would walk into a place like that and be surprised. And for godsake, reading Henry Miller today?! That's so quaint! So Fifties!
