Who, outside of a specially trained person, would be able to idetify a "black box" in all that rubble? I wouldn't recognize one if it was sitting on my desk. I mean, was it labeled "Black Box"?

The CVR and FDR in aircraft are fairly easy to recognize. They're painted bright orange and are labeled. However, they are not designed to survive a 2,200 degrees fire for more than a few minutes. While it is certain they survived the impact, they were incinerated in the ensuing fire which was hot enough to melt the large steel rod in the center of the WTC.

Assuming that parts of the aircraft didn't exit the other side of the building (including the tail of the plan, where the box is located), I'm sure that even as indestructible as those boxes are, they would've been flattened by all the rubble on top of them as well.

For those who believe that the steel in the WTC melted, unlike in every other steel frame building fire:

(Just because a bunch of anti-Bush fanatics raise questions about WTC doesn't mean the questions are silly. There may be much more to 9/11 than meets the eye for reasons having nothing to do with Bush. To me it is odder to suggest that the "black boxes" weren't found than that they were, and the government chooses to conceal that fact for some reason.
