VANITY of VANITIES
"Because I think its ridiculous to make a "tribute" to this guy."
Then by all means, you should ignore the post.
Far Beyond Driven, A Vulgar Display of Power, and perhaps the best one, IMHO, Cowboys From Hell.
I picked up the Damageplan CD - it is an incredible piece of work that, IMHO, far surpassed his work with Pantera...
An unlikely assortment of retired neighbors and young fans gathered Thurdsay outside the home of Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott, leaving flowers, a Confederate flag and a poster declaring him "the people's rock star". The 38-year-old guitarist, who was fatally shot during a performance Wednesday night in Columbus, Ohio, was remembered in this semi-rural enclave as an approachable star who never strayed far from his roots in blue-collar Arlington. "He was a hick with an attitude, and I say that respectfully," said neighbor Jim Evans, 63, a retired computer executive who said he frequently walked dogs with Abbott. "We'd talk conservative politics. He was a big, big supporter of George Bush." ...
By that standard, you should have ignored my post.
Did I miss the memo giving you ownership rights here? I'm asking a simple question that will likely prove, or at least add some support, to my point. This is, after all, a discussion forum, is it not? Breaking up a love fest with reality, no matter how distasteful to you, is discussion.
YES!!! He voted to GWB!!! Go Dimebag!!! I knew it, too!!!
Try "Official Live: 101 Proof"

Blah blah blah. It doesn't matter - the poster's account has been suspended.

Listen to their lyrics. They don't advocate drug use.
Talentless???
Pick up a guitar and play like Dimebag? What, you can't? I thought it didn't take talent to do that.
BTW, I do like Sinatra!
Well, actually, it appears that he wasn't.
What makes this "not music" just because YOU don't like it?
You serious??
He was known as Diamond Darrell until it wasn't cool to be "glam" and I always figured he changed it to Dimebag to appear to be more modern.
While Pantera's best era was the early to mid 90s, I do have a soft spot for the "glammier" stuff they released in the '80s as well.
Cowboys from Hell.
He WAS a conservative!!! I KNEW IT!!!!!
Look up this definition, and tell me where this noise fits:

mu·sic Audio pronunciation of "music" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (myzk)
n.
1. The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre.
2. Vocal or instrumental sounds possessing a degree of melody, harmony, or rhythm.
3.
1. A musical composition.
I'm sorry -- what was your question? I'm not sure about "noise", but Dimes compositions definitely fit the above definition.
2. The written or printed score for such a composition.
3. Such scores considered as a group: We keep our music in a stack near the piano.
4. A musical accompaniment.
5. A particular category or kind of music.
6. An aesthetically pleasing or harmonious sound or combination of sounds: the music of the wind in the pines.
I'm sorry, what was your question again? Oh, noise.....
I know nothing about the "noise" you refer to, but Dimes musical composition and playing definitely adhere to the above definition.
Like it or not, heavy metal is not music. It has nothing to do with tastes. I don't like opera or post 1989 pop, both of which are (at least partly) music. As far as the definition provided, please don't scoff the words, "continuous, unified, and evocative."
Now, if you are going to suggest there are musicians among heavy metal bands, then I'm sure I can be persuaded as such. And if there is a difference about this person you are speaking of, then again, I can be persuaded there are exceptions. But I've heard more heavy metal than I care to remember in the last 25 or more years, and none of it was music. Using three musical intruments to make noise isn't music.
If you disagree, give me an example of any "song" a heavy metal band did that one can sit down at a piano and play.
If you like it, great. I don't, but, as I hinted above, there's no accounting for tastes. And I didn't ask any question, so I'm not sure why you are asking me about what I asked.
