Your snide comments don't offend or insult me. There are always a few like you with the "who cares" additude peppered throughout FR.

The beauty of Free Republic is that people with conservative views can express similar interests (i.e.,baseball, mid-west mountain lions, football, music, SEINFELD), besides constantly discussing conservative politics. We are all have different interests and opinions we share with each other and that should be respected.

I'll speak for myself in saying that I do need a break from reading in News/Activism all the time and I'm certain I'm not the only one, otherwise there would be no G/C or Smoky Backroom, etc.

I'll choose to let my fellow FReepers decide for themselves how I contribute to FR.

The connection to conservative politics ought to be obvious when cougars start showing up in states (Illinois, Wisconsin...) where they're not 'supposed' to be. Once the cat is 'officially' recognized, then the next step will be calls for increased funding to manage the population which will, of course, be 'threatened', 'protected', etc. The cougars will then be given de-facto title to private property and even more property rights will be eroded. I recall Rush talking extensively about the hiker/ jogger who was killed by a big cat out in California (a number of years ago.)
