He seemed to have a real visceral hate for Joe Sixpack's and their unfounded faith in his prose, which he claims was nothing more than good songs with no real insight. On this I agree, but why the need to riddicule his fans. He seems like a bit of a hypocrite.
I liked his explanation of the media and feel he's dead nuts on with it. Funny though how he'll use it when it lines his pockets.
Bob came off as a third rate George Harrison with few personal interests and far less talent. He seems like a passionless bitter old man who's never developed other interests and it's eating him.
So I guess Bob is right. He's got fans and wealth, reached his destiny, and done so because of stupid fans who misunderstand entertainment for activism.
I wish Ed had asked him about his Wilburry's year/s as well as aked him about his peers. It certainly was all about Bob wasn't it?
Sobriety looks good on him....
Those fans he is ridiculing would appear to be the leftists who made him a "voice for a generation" and overplayed/sang his songs at protest rallies in the 60s AND 70s.
It pigeonholed him.
Actors who play Superman have a hard time getting other roles.
