I think what finally killed it for me -- in the 3rd or maybe 4th season -- was when I realized a lot of the show's "comedy" had to do with the characters' various forms of creative lying to anyone and everyone, probably even each other.

Isn't that pretty much the gist of all sit-coms? The master of it was Fraiser. How many episodes of Fraiser had in place Friaser and some other cast member going into the kitchen to reveal what was really up and then go back into the dining room/living room to continue some charade? Usually with sexual overtones.

Pretty much the same formula for Cheers (substitute Sam's office for Fraiser's kitchen), Three's Company, several episodes of MASH, and even a few I Love Lucy episodes.

I just think that Seinfeld did it with a better flair then 98% of the other sitcoms out there.
