Religions who have decorated trees in December:...Judaism (yes, many American Jews have "Hannukah bushes")...Pagan/wiccan/earth based religions (yule trees--the true origin of the Christmas tree) There's no Jewish tradition based on decorating trees or bushes in December. Maybe Pagans do it, I don't know any pagans. Just about everyone I know who decorates a tree in december does it for Christmas, not even New Years, which I suppose is why they're called Christmas Trees.

They're called Christmas trees because Christians in Europe conquered the pagan religions there and then incorporated pagan rituals and symbols into the Christian religion, renaming and claiming them as Christian.
