We were practically nun-free, except for the Principal. The nuns in college were a different story. They still tried to sort us at Mass.

It was too funny when I was in college, one of the really ancient nuns took a shine to Bob when he was in her Montessori preschool. She was grousing to me about one of the other nuns (my French teacher) who had decided not to wear her wimple anymore. Ancient nun snorts to me "Well! You don't change horses in mid-stream!"

Oh! And she had griped to me about how cold it was at the Convent since they didn't turn on the heat until after Thanksgiving. I gave her a space-heater for her cell. I asked Bob one day how Sister liked her heater and he (he was 4) said, "Well, I haven't seen her with it." I laughed so hard I almost wrecked the car.

I tired of the nuns after 12 years - I went to public school for college and technical school.......

One 'ster had me in her sights for an all girl college run by the same nuns as the HS.........and no explaining my family could not afford to send me there, regardless of the scholarships I already knew I had. My scholarships were only good in NY state and this school was in NC. she just would not back off this one school, even though I was looking at another school that was in Florida.

I gave up and went to the local campus of the State Univeristy and when there was a transit strike in NYC I was able to ride my bike or walk to school.
