Yes, this is true and one of the reasons why I think that Petrino is the better fit for Florida. Petrino has (I think) 26 players at Louisville from the state of Florida, a state very rich in football talent. I believe that is the most recruits from Florida ever at Louisville. And, though there is always more than just 1 reason for winning, I believe that his coaching talent and the talent level of those Florida recruits have a lot to do with their success.

Course, I'm biased, as I was born and raised in Florida (South Florida) and now live in North Florida. Petrino has been smart to tap the Florida football talent pool, something that smaller schools like Louisville have had a tough time doing in the past.

We'll see what happens. I, personally, am hoping that Petrino is the pick for the Gators.

I just heard (ESPN) that Willingham is out at Notre Dame. Urban Meyer has in his Utah contract that he can leave for ND without penalty. If he goes to ND, that might help open Florida job for Petrino.

IMHO, Bobby Petrino would be a dynamite pick for the Gators. And even though my Tigers would hate to lose Gene Chizic, he too, is ready for a major head coaching job.
