You can and should do that too, then Spybot S&D keeps spyware from downloading.

You should also get Spywareblaster, which is recommended by Spybot, to provide additional immunizations.

Some Adware can reinstall itself from your start up files in your registry. Go get SPYBOT.

Try different products. Not all programs get all of the nasties.
