Good morning! I've just about got things cleaned up from yesterday ... just need to sweep the kitchen and dining room again. We don't have too many leftovers.

No snow here, but it was well below freezing this morning. My husband is back at work (or at least at the office) today. The rest of us may go to the library later!

Thanksgiving was terrific........just the 3 of us so no worry about any libs at the table!!!!

I don't know what my all time favorite is, but the worst to me is candied yams......blech. after having to deal with them as a kid, I didn't eat sweet potatoes or yams again until I was nearly 30.

No snow in these parts, in fact the sun was shining and it was 73 around noon yesterday..........by 2 the clouds came in and it rained. We had to light a fire last night because the bottom fell out of the temperature. It's only 43 now.

I'm answering silly questions because I do not shop on Black Friday.

Thanksgiving was good. Thanks for asking. wonderful time with my kids and family.

Dad's a Republican, other than that...well, they're kin so let's just leave it there. It was, however, suggested that I run for congress after I met all their criticism of Bush foreign policy with "And we want to be friends with nations that have been seeking to bring us down for the last 15 or 20 years why?" Running for congress is not something I am going to spend much thought on in this district....Nader would be more likely to win here. I do think I convinced the sister-in-law that maybe it wasn't all Bush's fault. At the very least she's willing to rethink just who our friends are in the world and what it actually means for a nation to be a friend to another nation.

Celery filled with a mix of cream cheese, diced olives and chopped walnuts. very tasty. Squash on the other hand....

Much to the chagrin of my boy, there was no snow to be had. It did rain, however, and the puddles in our neck of the woods froze over. Much fun was had this afternoon, on the way to the park to feed to birds the toast my little girl makes in abundance, in stomping every piece of thin ice that could be found. Nice crackling sound followed by angelic laughter. Fully warmed my heart on this cold day.

day shopping or day filled with kids...now, I might be a little presumptuous here but somehow I think the kids preferred me spending time with them as opposed to being dragged around shopping malls while being told they can't have every bauble that catches their eye. Hmmm, maybe I was shopping for laughter at the park playground after feeding the birds copious ammounts of toast. The little ones were indeed shopping - shopping for a few more pushes on the swings before going home.

Dunno, don't rightly care. If you really need to know the specs of a swallow in flight might I suggest google?

Sorry, no tums. Big believer in letting the body do its thing. And why would you want to treat the symptom and not the cause anyway?

I have been fighting a flu type cold for almost 3 weeks now.... what a delightful holiday. This cold did not keep me from being at Walmart and then Goodys and sitting eating breakfast at the Cracker Barrel by 7:30 am.... that is my idea of shopping. Thats my Thanksgiving tradition, sick I know, but I love it.

(you know I am sick, I am smoking menthols.... yuch)

Thanksgiving was nice, quiet, because I feel so bad. My daughters helped out, and we had no relatives, so it was easy on me.

My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is a chocolate pie that I make only once a year, for fear of eating the whole pie with a big ole glass of milk in one sitting. I will share with anyone who would like a chocolate pie upside down (do we ever do a recipie thread?)

The worst was at my mother in laws the year I was married... we never went back.
(the words "stove top stuffing" should say enough)

cough, cough, achooo... I am going back to bed
