Fourteen years ago, in Jacksonville, we had an inch of snow. The city shut down (no salt trucks). No one owned snow tires, knew how to drive on snow or even knew how to get ice off of our cars. Many brave souls tried walking on the icy sidewalks.

I don't know how the human race survives in snowy weather, but you have all my admiration for going this long without driving into a ditch.

Argh, it looks as though this thread is populated by sloths and slug abeds, (as I type in my nightgown.)

Happy Thanksgiving!

LE, blue doesn't bother me, if I've seen blue food coloring go in the other end. Lillie's output has increased, poor thing, because she is on anti-biotics for her ear infection. And her mommy has been spoiling (tempting) her with her favorite food, peaches.

Slip, my baby sister is an RN. She's a warm, loving, funny, feminine person. She just doesn't want kids. Some people are that way.

My dad, (a USAF bomber pilot)wanted to teach all of his kids to fly. We can all take off and land a plane...but none of us love it the way he did, none of us owns a plane or ever went to get our pilot license. (And planes are alot less maintenance than kids...)

Driving in snow takes some instruction and practice, but most of us are of course quite accustomed to it. It's good to see you and Tex putting these other croquettes to shame. Have fun!

Dutchgirl - I grew up in Texas and we usually had a couple of snowfalls each winter - no trucks to clear the roads because the snow usually will melt within a few days - you just can't drive on it - the cars pack it down into ice then you are really in trouble.

In Pennsylvania the plows clear the roads and throw salt behind them as they go - the roads are so clear it is like driving in the summer! The snow can be a pain but it really is pretty and kind of fun - *unless you have to shovel it by hand*
