Prayers for Baltodog and Family, Please

Tomorrow, 11/21/04 is a big day for us...
Because of repetative problems, we are withdrawing our boys from Wichita Public Schools to home-school.
All the proper forms are in place, and there is nothing to do now but walk and get thier stuff.
We have been told that the district will fight us over the legalities of this decision and we are nervous, but prepared to fight.
I respectfully request a few quick prayers for strength, encouragement, and to generally put our minds at ease to know we are doing the right thing.

Our prayers are with you.
My wife and I are planning on home schooling our three.
I would very definitely recommend reading through, "Well Trained Mind" by Susan Wise Bauer. It lays out a very well thought out plan for home schooling.

You are in a state with low regulations. That is good news. Green is the best and red is the worst.

I'll be praying for you.
I pulled mine from school last April for a variety of reasons. The school did report me but nothing has come of it - yet! I am loving homeschooling - everyone is commenting on all the great changes they see in the kids.
P.S. What curriculum did you choose?

Hi, Balto! Congratulations on your decision to homeschool! It is a great way of life.
My husband works a second-shift job, and also farms. So, homeschooling allows the kids to spend real quality time with BOTH of their parents. It is a grace of God, for which we are truly grateful!
As stated above, HSLDA is a great proponent of homeschooling, and will keep you up-to-date on any pending homeschool legislation, etc. You can go to their website and sign up for their free weekly Homeschool Updates (via email), too. It is well worth the $100/year fee for their services!
God bless you and your family as you begin this new journey! Sincerely, we_home_ed
