That was kewl. I heard on one of the talk shows that for that photo op, Kerry and his little "Band of Brothers" went into the woods to shoot those geese. The caller was making the point that geese do not land in forested areas to rest--only on grasslands by water. So that goose could have been "offed" previously to assure that Kerry would have bagged his goose for the cameras (not to be confused with goosing his Bag--Teresa--for the cameras). I never heard whether it was true or not (the woods thing), but it sounded about right for that liar.
