Today my husband received a card in the mail from a business acquaintance. I certinly won't call it a Christmas card in fact it's not even an appropriate "holiday" card. It calls itself a parody card and it's titled "Martha Stewarts White Trash Christmas". It's made out to look like a magazine cover, has a ginger bread rv or trailer on the front and stupid blurbs that are supposed to be articles in the magazine like "How to keep Christmas dinner from turning into a drunken brawl like it usually does." It's frankly offensive and not one bit cute or clever.
The person who sent it launched into a unprovoked tirade on November 3rd that took my husbands breath away. All the "Republicans are stupid, knuckle-dragging inbreds etc". Hateful stuff. Now he sends this card saying he thought husband might enjoy it and maybe it'll become a collectors item.
I suggested to Mr. Prairie that he has two high-road options. One is to ignore it and not respond. The other is to respond by sending this guy the most reverent, beautiful Christmas card we can find with a heartfelt blessing as a greeting. Hubby is thinking about doing that.
Prairie
Tough call.
Personally, I'd just chuck it and spend the time responding in getting a good shave.
Mr.PB's mileage may vary.
Prairie - What must that co-worker of your husband be like that he sends a "Christmas" card like that? Your idea to send a Biblical Christmas card is a good one.
