Wow, I am truly happy to hear that. I stew at home because no one around here can seem to say the "C" word. Catalogs I get, shopping networks, newspapers... At work is the worst - they keep pushing some "holiday" party and there is not one decoration in public at our huge corporation. Some of the admins have their desks secretly decorated. If anyone asks me, I will say in a polite way "What holiday are you referring to?"
Good morning folks. I need to catch up on this thread, sweetliberty what neck of the woods has nativity scenes at courthouses? Sounds like my kind of place!
Several days ago we had lunch at a little place that had a Merry Christmas sign up and real carols playing over the speakers. I called the diner and told a manager how much I appreciated those things and that I was certain that if I felt that way there were others also did. She was appreciative of the call and promised to pass my compliment on to the owners.
After this Christmas season I'm done shopping at Target. Not only due to their poor decision about banning the Salvation Army kettles but those commercials of theirs features that Three Dog Night (I think) song
Joy to the world" as something appropriate for Christmas.
I need to write their corporate offices about my displeasure.

Well, we have a Christmas party. Two of them, actually. The one we had for the foster kids and foster parents, and the one we have in the office next week. Our office also has a door decorating contest. Several are done with the nativity and Christian references. In this area, people honor Christ and go to church. It is easy to spot the caseworkers and investigators offices. We have the doors that aren't decorated. Nobody has time. Our combined workload has about tripled in the past 2 weeks, but no new staff to take up any of the slack. One of the investigators has 50 new reports which have to initiated within 72 hours of the report. She's having to work all weekend, and she isn't even on call.
