I have no problem with homeschooling at all. I think it's great if you can do it. But I must admit that I do get a little tired of the insults aimed at those who attend public schools.
My daughter is in eighth grade. She is currently taking Geometry. She has been recommended for the International Baccalaureate Program at the high school that she will attend next year. She can also take Advanced Placement courses in high school for college credits. She has also won several writing awards and her teachers have suggested that I submit some of her stories for publication.
My point is that not all public schools are bad. It depends on where you live and how involved the parents are.
Watch that International Baccalaureate program - it is a curriculum that is sponsored by the U.N. and the literature and social studies components are highly socialistic. Additionally the science is very firmly slanted towards the global warming and environmental extremism positions. You'd better check it out carefully if you are of the conservative persuasion. It is not something I'd put my student in.
I firmly believe that some children can shine in the public schools.
I also believe that some parents are MUCH better off with their children in Public Schools however, unlike you, most of them don't want to be around their kids anyway.
I homeschool because the Public Schools failed my daughter who attended K and 1st grade. I know both of yours and mine will turn out great!
(my four year old is a genius...BTW. LOL!)
