The SAT and similar achievement tests are standardized, and Homeschoolers typically pass them with high scores. This is without resorting to state-mandated achievement tests from first grade to high school graduation.

I know a lot of teachers in the public system that are sick to death of teaching "to the test" instead of teaching facts and cogent concepts. Kids are getting less of an education than they deserve in many public school settings, due to the way the institution has mutated.
