Reed Orders Machine Recount in Governor's Race

Media Advisory Issued: November 17, 2004

All counties in Washington have certified returns from the 2004 General Election. Secretary of State Sam Reed has officially ordered a machine recount in the race for Governor.

The difference in the votes cast for Christine Gregoire and Dino Rossi is 261 votes, with Rossi leading. The difference meets the requirement for a mandatory, machine recount.

All I can say is this: Ruth Bennett better be everyone's favorite lesbian, because her Libertarian Party took about 2% of the vote, and Rossi's own studies indicate that most of it came from Chrissy (It's My Turn, Dammit!) Gregoire. Here's one to you, Ruth!

Looking very good, if the liberals would have stolen it from Rossi, I would still refer to him as Governor Rossi next year. We need him to prevent the Dem controlled legislature from raising taxes.
