The obvious solution is to buy another ten pack of Bic pens (same kind), and use the cap from a new pen with the sentimental (?) one. Carefully make do with nine caps and ten pens from the new pack.

That merely shifts the problem from one pen to another. That's like saying that I can feed one of my kids by taking food from another.
