I have a techinical question, how do I change my name on this blog. I love presidentbowen, but I don't think I should use it anymore because there is only one President!
Also, how do I add images to the messages I post. Similar to the popular Atomic Opposum...
Thanks Freepers!
Re register with new name. New born on date also. Can't help with pics.
Sent a private FReepmail to Jim Robinson to get your name changed and not lose your sign up date!
The picture has to be hosted online. photobucket has free webspace you can use to host your pictures.
< (Opens the link)
img (Stands for image)
(space between img and src)
src (Stands for Source)
= (tells the computer that you are going to put in a destination)
"URL" (The url of the picture goes between quotation marks)

put it all together and you get (with an unneeded space between the first karat and the img) < "img src=http://www.spiano.mazda.co.jp/img/appeal1-p1.jpg"> This is the URL for the picture of a mazda.
Take the space out after the first karat (<) and you would get
tinypic.com is nice to upload quick pictures and there is no signup
The bottom line. You cannot change your screen name. Just sigh up for new one and live with the newer date.
The Other thing which hasn't been explained is you need to have a place on a server where you store your image, not on your computer nor can you store them on FR server. There are places on the Net you can either use for free or pay for large storage. one is www.photobucket.com. After you transfer your image to photobucket it gives you the src code to copy and transfer. Nothing is easy.
You should live with your screename forever like all one's mistakes. :)
I know of a few people who changed their screen name and kept their post count and sign up date...all you have to do is ask Jim Robinson.
Thanks for the info, t. I've thought of changing mine a couple of times.
Glad I could help.
