HEY ROCK 101 KLOL FANS!!

Here's an article from today's "Houston Chronicle" regarding the bogus takeover of the best little rock station in Texas:

For everyone who wants the REAL KLOL back, I heartily encourage you to go to www.rock101.info and sign the petition! The list has grown to 4,195 signatures and growing.

FROM THAT FORUM:
Tim,
Thanks for the email. Clear Channel has been an effective strategic partner of XM Radio in the past -- contributing financial support (original investment), programming and operational support. In 2003, Clear Channel engaged in a forward sale of their XM Radio holdings (approximately 8.3 million shares) and as of May 2004 Clear Channel no longer participates as a member of the XM Radio Board of Directors.

The programming decisions of Clear Channel at individual radio stations have nothing to do with XM Radio or how we operate our business. XM is poised to end 2004 with more than 3.1 million subscribers and are on the way to 20 million subscribers in 2010. If anyone in Houston in interested in great music (rock or otherwise) I would suggest they try out XM Radio and discover what deep play lists, intelligent on-air talent and no commercials sounds like.

Thanks for the heads up on KLOL. I am not sure what happened but the link provided no longer works.

XM Investor Relations,

There seems to be a lot of mis-information avaialble on the net in regards to the ownership percentage of Clear Channel and their role at XM.

It is out on the net that at one time they owned 30% and were sitting back ready to take XM over if $$ troubles continued, there are other reports that they own less than 3% and other than some talk programming they have nothing to do with XM.

The reason I bring this up, is that on Friday Clear Channel pulled the plug on KLOL ROCK 101 in Houston. I think a lot of people are clearly disgusted with Clear Channel for what they have done with FM radio around the country. I think a lot of listeners will look to XM and Sirius as alternatives and your affiliation with CC no matter how small or insignificant may affect their purchase decision.

Check out www.klol.info for radio listeners reactions to CC pulling the plug on one of Houston's favorite stations. Their is also a discussion of the link between XM and Clear Channel.

Thanks in advance for the information.

Tim

I would be really surprised if PAY RADIO didn't have advertising by 2010.
