We're tired of subsidising the red states. Total transfers from the productive blues to the welfare reds amounted to $136 billion (in '02, according to the Tax Foundation).
You guys are the ones always going off about "independence" and "self-reliance". Well, put your money where your toothless mouths are and refuse to accept our tax dollars why don't you.
You might want to consider that that transfer of Federal Funds is to the military bases in the red states not to mention all the federal facilities that support you bluebunnies like the Space Centers in Alabama and Texas, Florida, and the research facilities like NASA Langley in Virginia.
