Where he was born and raised was primarily steel plants, Steubenville, OH very blue collar and Democrat back then. Supposedly as the years wore on he became Republican.

Steubenville (my home town) is still blue collar and Democrat. Jefferson County went for Kerry.

I figured it was. My mom was born and raised there but I haven't been back for anything longer than half a day in about 18 years.
