What a fine morning! Last night, hubby gleefully shouted to me that Satan's minion had gone to his master at last.
Happy Veterans Day everyone! One of my favorite poems:
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
John Mcrae
Let us never forget...
I always knew this scumbag was Egyptian and burial in Cairo sounds right.......but are we really sure that's where YouraRAT's going to be fertilizing the soil?
I wonder if the multitudes are going to tip over the coffin so the faithful can rip off a piece of Yassir for a souvenir like the Iranians did when the Ayatollah Khomeini died.
In Flanders Field is a wonderful poem.
Here's another I especially appreciate.
The Soldier
It is the soldier, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the soldier,
who salutes the flag,
who serves under the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Thank you Veterans, God Bless you.
I'll bet Jews all over the world are celebrating-a neighbor of mine told me some time ago that when Arafat finally died, they would be giving thanks to God and popping champagne corks at her house. She was hoping that he would be taken out in one of the raids on his compound though, not dying peacefully in bed in Paris...
Thank you, Gabz-I don't think I've ever seen that one before.
I have seen it before, but it was posted yesterday/last night on one of the threads about the picture of the Marine.
After re-reading In Flanders Field I went looking for it.
Thanks for the ping. That was most excellent.
Hubby is off today and putting up some more shelves in the shop (there are never enough shelves)-I've got to finish a bid and get it to a customer who is off today, then I'm calling it a day-my crew all insisted on being off today-back soon...
You are most welcome.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!
From the article, and I hate calling her works of art, mere artilces....
"I witnessed it from the bottom up, going door to door with volunteers in Florida, meeting with the troops collating and delivering pro-Bush literature in Ohio, meeting with the phone callers who were getting out the vote in Pennsylvania, and hearing everyone's stories on the national battle of the Bush lawn signs. They were always being removed in the dark of night. (One Ohio man got so fed up he wired his Bush sign with some kind of cattle prodder thing; in the morning, proof through the night that his sign was still there.) I saw mothers leave their kids to work at various headquarters for a few hours whenever they could, and husbands stay out late to put up banners. I saw the young man in an Ohio headquarters who kept a baseball bat in his office because they had been menaced, and he meant to menace back if he had to."
I love Noonan's work............you're right about it being called just a mere article.
Purgatory is too good for him. RIP should mean Rolling In Pigs.
Jimmy Carter will talk about what a great man Yassur was.
Jimmy Carter should be next...................
I'm sure we could squeeze Jimmy into the box next to his hero........
Sounds like a plan.............
We can hope. Here is a link to Amy's Veteran's Day thread. Starting with NicknamedBob.
