This is the most ignored portion of any important document in US history. Very few understand (including many Republicans) that God endows men (us) with these rights (all rights come from God alone), they are not granted by any government. And to protect our God-given rights, men (we) institute governments. And when government abuses powers (not rights) we consented to grant the government, we have the right (given to us by God) to alter or abolish that government.
