The opening monologue delivered by George C. Scott in the movie "Patton" was an abbreviated and cleaned up version of this one. Saw the transcript on an all-Patton website about six years ago while looking for his poetry. The war could have been won more quickly if, a day or so after D-Day, Montgomery had been assassinated and the blame for it pinned on the Germans.
Patton also said, "It's not your job to die for your country, it's to make the other son of a bitch die for his!"
