New Star Wars preview

Posted on 11/06/2004 9:55:10 PM PST by pjd

I did a search and didn't see this, so I figured I would post it.

Saw The Incredibles tonight (very cool movie) but was surprised to see a preview for Star Wars Episode III.

I know we all been disappointed with I and II, but this one looks very much like we fans have been hoping for.

The Incredibles did over $20M.... I wonder how much of that are the Star Wars fans flocking to see the trailer??

The previews of IV and V looked good too.

Prepare for another 2 hours of Jar-Jar flying an Ewok hang glider.

Remember that George is directing...AGAIN. And no one can tell him no, since this is financed with his money. I saw The Incredibles tonight..that movie has a SOUL! Great writing, ingenius direction, character development, humor in all the right spots, etc

50/50 chance that the next SW is all flash and no depth. George really should come down off his high-horse and let Steven direct.

I have it on my computer, and I have probably watched it at least a dozen times, going frame by frame through the important parts.

I'm a nerd.

"i saw a trailer on some show and got really excited!!"

FWIW, rumor has it from insiders that Vader only appears in the classic dark getup in the last 10 minutes of the film.

Pixar always does good work, but I think putting the SW trailer in front of it probably doubled the demographic.

Lucas makes the best trailers on earth. he knows how to push the right buttons and not give too much away. But good trailers don't mean good movies. I've been burned too often in the past by him.

We took our 10-year old to see the Incredibles tonight. Fantastic movie!! Great for kids and great for adults, too. The animation was wonderful. Pixar is amazing. There were so many parts where you couldn't even tell that it was animation, it looked so real. If you're looking for a movie to take your kids to that won't bore the life out of you, this is it.

Oy!
At least the humiliation will be over with this film. GL can tarnish his Saga- and our imaginations- no more.
I hope not-pray not.

The Myth has been buried by the marketing.
The OT is the only SW for me.

Rumor also has it that there is a "Yoda farting" scene. At this point, color me unexcited about the whole thing.

I saw the preview on the local news the other day. The worst part of the last 2 movies is the cheesy-looking CGI. It looks too fake and cartoonish. Lucas would have been better off going back to the old technology and models of the late 70s.

The OT is the only SW for me.

I have a feeling that in the future (distant future?) someone is going to remake epidoses 1-3 with the same style as the orignal movies.

ooohhhhhhh....i hope you are correct--as that would be amazing!

The whole "Star Wars" thing is old and tired.

Time to put the franchise out to pasture.

I heard that Vader kills Jar-Jar after he find him with Princess Amidala in bed.
