Moonlight Stream

In the forest there is a stream,
Of cool clear waters that give off a gleam.
The moonlight shimmered that summer night,
As I tip-toed through the forest excited and up tight.
And then suddenly in the blink of an eye,
A dark figure was looming in the moon streaked sky.
It howled and chanted a mysterious tune,
As it hung in mid air, staring up at the moon.
The once beautiful waters of the calm peaceful brook, Were now stirred and distracted lik in a queer book.
It seemed so real, but different in a way,
I had to leave but longed to stay.
And now I ran home from that weird little stream,
Wondering if it had only been a strange dream.
But when I awoke in the morning I had a picture in my mind,
Of the beautiful place I had left behind.
And now when I go to sleep every night,
This mystical place pops back into sight.
