I EXPECT PEANS OF AWED REVERENCE!!!

more seriously, I was hoping for the genesis of a discussion concerning how best we may assist the death of the rot within that party, and see whether a viable definition of what, in our Constitution-ruled Republic, would constitute the "loyal opposition" to what we consider to be ourselves at our ideal.

Thsi would have an additional and salutory effect of helping us know what we are when we are at our best, in that same light, and help us to spot and control our own cancers.

I am not wise enough to tackle all that on my own, nor persusive enough to convince the massed populations of this Republic to heed my thoughts.

Help, if only "feedback" from the thoughtful, pragmatic, and sincere, is ever to be sought. Nu?

I'm confused.

Peons?

Pecans?

Or this ... Paeans?

paean also pean (pê´en) noun
1. Music. A song of joyful praise or exultation.
2. A fervent expression of joy or praise: "The art . . . was a paean to paganism" (Will Durant).
3. An ancient Greek hymn of thanksgiving or invocation, especially to Apollo.
[Latin paeân, hymn of thanksgiving, often addressed to Apollo, from Greek paian, from Paian, a title of Apollo.]
- pae´anis´tic (-îs´tîk) adjective

More to the point...

..."...what, in our Constitution-ruled Republic, would constitute the "loyal opposition" to what we consider to be ourselves at our ideal."

The answer to this is the Constitution Party. While it is fledgling still, they are where we should be.

Just as the declining major political party will need no assistance in its death spiral, we are already our own opposition. We have been compromising our own principles, simply for the sake of survival, to such an extent that we don't even recognize what our principles are anymore.

We need to get back to basics.

While I would not recommend convoking a constitutional convention, I do think it would be appropriate to try to make sure that the next time our party's platform is written, that it include some well-developed core ideas that will stand the test of time, as well as scrutiny from the Constitutional Party.

"....I was hoping for the genesis of a discussion concerning how best we may assist the death of the rot...."

This oughta short circuit the three random firing brain cells they have left.
