You may be totally correct. The Stars and Bar is a symbol of our heritage. Everyone reads it differently. However, it is not the Flag for the State of Georgia today.
the REAL Georgia FLAG (post 1956) is the Confederate BATTLEFLAG design, which was ALSO designed by William Porcher Miles in 1861 & was carried HONORABLY into battle by GA troops.
of course, the average legislator is TOO IGNORANT of their state's history to know such a TRUTH.

Actually, you are incorrect. The current Georgia State flag is the "Stars and Bars", a/k/a "the First National Flag", with the Ga. State Seal encircled in thirteen Stars. The '56 Georgia flag incorporated the "Battle Flag", or "Southern Cross", not the "Stars and Bars".
