.
But Seide, who said Tuesday she would have preferred the conviction of Howard Dean to Kerry's waffling, voted for President Bush. She was in the 45 percent of 18- to 29-year-olds who defied rockers and movie stars, warnings of military drafts and condemnations of the war in Iraq, to support Bush.
Exit polls suggest that, as with Seide's motives for picking Bush, the war wasn't the driving factor that Democrats expected. Mirroring results across the board, more people in this group placed higher importance on moral values. The economy, terrorism and Iraq followed. The young voters tended to go to church, were moderate to conservative on abortion and split on whether they approved of Bush's job so far. More
P. Diddy ain't worth diddly.
Was it Evan Thomas who said he'd help get Kerry elected by 15 pts. with his mag?
Love the 'lists'. I'll check back later to see if anyone adds to it.
Busy, busy today. I won't be here much.
Gee, that's a shame that the Dems so miscalculated on that phony "Bush will reinstate the draft" allegation.
I think our BigGayFormerVP needs to decompress. Maybe he and Tippsy will go to a health spa to work on their diets and to get some fresh air to clear their heads.
Let's don't be so quick to jump on Evan Thomas. I think there's a possibility he was "ratting" on his colleagues. After his quote became public about 6 months ago, I've watched carefully everytime I saw him interviewed. I'm not convinced at all that he subscribed to the portrait he was accusing the media of painting.
...in Italy! Be sure to hide the wallet, Al. LOL!
Im going to talk about something no other Democrat can talk about but heck, Im not running for anything. Lets be frank about it. Out in the country, they are wearing us out with guns and gay marriage.
Former President Bill Clinton, speaking at a pre-election rally in Little Rock (Washington Post, Nov. 1)
When you vote this Tuesday, remember to legalize gay marriage by supporting John Kerry. We need John Kerry in order to make gay marriage legal for our city. Gay marriage is a right we all want. Its a basic Democrat principle. Its time to move forward and be progressive. Without John Kerry, George Bush will stop gay marriage. Thats why we need Kerry. So Tuesday, stand up for gay marriage by supporting John Kerry.
A recorded message played in phone calls the weekend before the election in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Flint and Pontiac, Mich. (Associated Press, Nov. 1)
I thought Kerry was against Gay Marriage. *snortgiggle*
More for the list:

Nancy Pelosi
Jesse Jackson
Anybody seen Sandy stickyfingers Berger lately?
Oh, that's why I asked. I couldn't remember whether it was reported that it was a quote from him or others had said it.
A little info on the Jewish vote:
Stress and disappointment gave way to jubilation at the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) of Los Angeles election night party as President George W. Bush piled up the electoral votes and turned the map of the United States Republican red.
The mood was far more somber at the Manhattan Beach Marriot, where Democrats gathered for a victory party that never took place. By early morning, the crowd had dwindled to a handful of true believers who looked stunned by Sen. John F. Kerrys disappointing performance.[snip]
A lot of Jewish voters are voting for Bush. Its obvious, she said. Back at Level One, pandemonium broke out at 9:45 p.m. when Fox projected Bush the winner in Ohio.
Jay Hoffman, a 52-year-old retiree from Los Angeles, broke into a wide smile. Around him, friends and family hugged one another.
I think it helps Jews everywhere to have access to the Republican Party, he said. Democrats can no longer take the Jewish vote for granted.
A number of RJC revelers said they had often voted Democratic in the past, but no more. They said they changed their allegiance because Bush exhibited the strong leadership needed to successfully prosecute the war on terror. Equally important, they said he understood the folly of dealing with Yasser Arafat, a terrorist not welcome in the Bush White House.
Shirley Darvish, a 24-year-old independent, said she disagreed with the president on most social issues. For the Beverly Hills mortgage banker, foreign policy trumps domestic policy in the post-Sept. 11 world. In her view, Kerry worried too much about keeping on good terms with Americas allies and not enough about identifying U.S. interests and pursuing them.
I dont want somebody whose going to bow down to the U.N., said Darvish, alluding to Kerrys promise to work closely with the international body. I want somebody who will make the big decisions, regardless of what other countries think. More
Joan Baez had a concert last night in Charlottesville, VA. [Boy, they're really coming out of the woodwork, aren't they? Bob Dylan where are you?!]
Nov. 4, 2004
Meanwhile, on the West Coast her comrades were out in force:Joan Baez and Me
She gwine tell de folks how dat ol' missuh prez'dent be a debbil!...the most remarkable and disturbing episode occurred halfway through the concert when Joan stopped singing and announced that she had "multiple personalities." One of her multiple personalities is that of a fifteen year old poor black girl named Alice from Turkey Scratch, Arkansas. Baez decided to share with us Alice's views on the election.
Amazed and horrified I watched a rich, famous, extremely white folksinger perform what can only be described as a bit of minstrelsy---only the painted on blackface was missing. Alice, the black teenager from Arkansas...spoke in a dialect so broad and thick that it would put Uncle Remus and Amos and Andy to shame. Baez' monologue was filled with phrases like, "I'se g'win ta" do this that or the other and dropping all final "g's." Baez, as Alice, made statements like, "de prezident, he be a racist," and "de prezident, he got a bug fer killin'." Finally, since Bush won the election with 58.7 million votes to Kerry's 55.1 million, Alice observed, "Seems lak haf' de country be plumb crazy." ...
Once Joan finished her minstrelsy riff, the audience, in which I did not see a single black person, went wild with applause and hoots and hollers. I have never felt so embarrassed for a bunch of "liberals" in my life. I wonder where Baez got her notions of how poor black country folk talkshe couldn't be stereotyping, could she?
I won't post the one that says "F*** America!"
Thanks for reinforcing my longheld belief that liberals are the biggest racists in America. Too bad Joan's other personalities didn't also include a rapper, yo.
Interviewed by Judy Woofruff or Katie Couric
Nancy Pelosi:
I saw her interviewed this morning with Matt Lauer. I was shocked when he stopped her demands that "Bush reach out..." and asked her what DEMOCRATS are going to do to be more cooperative!
Her answer in a nutshell [she said it more shrill-ly than this]:
"The president has made it clear he wants to make the tax cuts permanent. But we have this huge deficit! He's going to have to raise taxes."
LOL! They're going to emphasize the DEFICIT? This plays right into Bush's expected move to bring SPENDING into line! Losers yesterday, losers tomorrow.
Ah, yes. The party of generosity's cure-all.
Has anyone added Bob Beckel and Paul Begala to the list yet? hehehe
Happy Birthday Laura!
A Scottish terrier that President Bush will give to his wife, Laura, as a birthday gift is shown Nov. 1, 2004, in a copy of a snapshot with its mother, Blackwatch Elizabeth, right, in Livingston, N.J. The female Scottish terrier, third down from top center, that the first lady and twins Barbara and Jenna have named Miss Beazley, was born in a litter of five in Livingston, N.J., on Oct. 28, 2004, to a dog owned by Patricia Gilmore. President Bush marked Laura Bush's birthday Thursday by announcing he would give her the Scottish terrier puppy that is a relative of the current first dog, Barney.
