Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yep. They cover the tables with brown paper and put out a bunch of crayons so the kids can doodle. The waitress also writes her name on the table, upside down (from herself, rightside up for us)...it's a bit of stunt they do or something. I think you're supposed to be impressed and tip them hughly for it.

So... at Shootmoot, are we going to have one solid day of Trilogy, or spread it out over the week? will this before or after we have "Fear Factor on Dogwood Ridge"?...

We had a great time. Went bowling the next day...that was fun too, except Joshua tossed his bowling ball into the lane, it rolled a while and then stopped, and it just sat there, right in the middle of the lane. That was pretty funny...

No.
Steve and I ate a quick sandwich before we left. Joshua and Matthew split a meal. Steve got a soda.

Joshua's friend from church, Maj. George, with his Hobbit Hole knife. Think this could go on the webpage somewhere??

She went above and beyond, considering we only got one meal and brought our own dessert in! LOL She got the whole restaurant to sing to Joshua and took our picture...she was very good natured and deserved a good tip...even though it was only three dollars.

No, not anything other than he's a friend of Joshua's from church. He was Joshua's Awanas teacher last year. You've seen the picture of Joshua on his lap, haven't you? It's the sweetest picture...

Sorry I haven't put together that thread yet.... I am feeling a little too disconnected from what to do. Here's what I don't feel like I know.
Is it a joint Hobbit Hole/Foxhole project? Or is this something we just hope they will join? Who at the Foxhole is involved? Should we talk to them about it in any way?
Is the project mostly for getting ideas about things to send, for you to post product ideas and things you find and get feedback from a larger group than ours --- or ---is the real goal to set up actual donors and packages on a larger scale than we can do here? If the latter, who is going to collect the money and send packages? or do we know yet? If it is you, will we publish your contact info or work that out later?

Well, the info in both of those posts explains what we need to caption about it...
"Major George" receives a hobbit hole knife from Joshua, son of 2Jedismom in OK."
How about that?
