The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

The Princess Bride is on A&E at 9:00 eastern.

I don't know how that works for y'all out west, whether it's just a time-zone shift or the channel adjusts its schedule accordingly.

Just to let you know.

Yes. It's moving. They moved the Hatteras Light inland a few years ago.

Good evening!

We just finished watching "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" and my brother left for the jam. He offered to let me ride with him as I'm not exactly feeling like driving much of anywhere...but I'm feeling homebody-ish. Maybe I'll just eat chocolate and watch anime instead. Or at least the eat chocolate part. Or something.

Good evening!

Late evening, anyway.

I'm almost feeling guilty for not going to the jam...but I know I'd be tired sooner than Jim wanted to leave and I didn't wanna drive myself...so I guess that's just the way she be!

LOL! I've seen that before, but like many of the cartoons there it's still...strangely mesmerizing.

Wow...I've got two young fellas to myself? ;-)

I haven't seen Shrek 2. Not sure I wanna. I found some parts of Shrek funny...but a lot of it too scatological for my tastes...

Watching "Princess Bride."

Just saw an ad for an A&E original with Wallace Shawn (is in Princess Bride) and Vern Troyer ("Mini-Me"), called Karroll's Christmas (sp?). Supposed to be a twist on the Scrooge story. On 12/14 or thereabouts.
