Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

You think YOU'VE got problems...we just got a work order for a computer that's acting erotic.
It was supposed to say "erratic", but we got a good laugh out of it before correcting it...

Ha! It took me a whopping 15 minutes as a new freeper before I got banned.
Took me 2 weeks to get re-activated.

See...stuff like that is one reason I've never, ever had the guts to post a thread. Not once! Not to mention it's the reason I rarely post outside the Hole. Not that I'm afraid of being banned...more of what other FReepers might say to me without my knowing what to say back. I just don't like controversy!
I'm such a coward.

I never post anything controversial...only upbeat or informative.
I'm a bit of a coward too, especially after getting banned! LOL

...we just got a work order for a computer that's acting erotic. Well, that ought to get every tech in the place to want to take a look at it!

Once in a great while I'll poke a toe into the religious wars...usually due to one poster in particular who says the same lies month after month, year after year.
But if you post once...you have to keep up the conversation. And I just don't have the self-confidence that is required for heated arguments! Heh...
Some of 'em are entertaining to watch, though...
