The snow is gone here, washed away by a day and a half of rain and temps on the forties.

The c/r is watching Anne of Green Gables.

Oh that it were Monday :/

The c/r just tried the gadget with his old laptop. It worked for 7-1/2 minutes.

It's going back to the store. If they offer another one, great, but the c/r thiks it better to get one of the same brand as the rest of the networking gadgetry in the house, should such ever come on sale. Meanwhile, I'm hardwired again.

Hmm... I've never had compatibility issues, but I have had wonky routers. There was the one that wouldn't talk to the hard-lines... the one that went out every eight hours... the one the bothers crashed into and killed - ok, that wasn't the router's fault.

It's cold here. 20s, probably. I still can't get hold of coworker who lives near school to ask him to change the backup tapes. And I definitely can't get out of here.

signing off. I am moving the 'puter to another room, and it happens that the room isn't wired for internet yet. PE thinks I am a bit off my rocker.

LP? I've... heard of those. And Andy Williams? Well... to each his own, of course.

Reproduction of a clasic design...you've probably seen these in stores...we're getting my uncle one, and I'm fitting it with RCA plugs so he can use external speakers or plug a recorder into it...

As for Andy Williams, to my knowledge I've only heard his renditions of Christmas music...

Dude, I don't shop. We went over this before.

However, that is a handsome piece of equipment!

It has been a confusing weekend, my friend. After driving my car without any trouble for two days, now we can't get it to not blow the fuse. Steve disconnected the battery, changed the fuse re-hooked the battery and it blew.

So I'm back to being without transportation again.

But here's some good news!

At the Coburn headquarters one evening while we were helping, we tried to bring our little TV/DVD player with us so the jedis could watch a DVD while we worked. I plugged it in and it went POW and died.

Just this evening, I decided to take the back off the thing and see what I could see, despite large warnings advising against it. I took off the back and bigger than day was a little fuse, all black. I pointed it out to Steve and he popped it out and looked at it. He said "It's a 125V fuse." I looked down at the Christmas lights we'd been hanging and said "It looks just like these spare fuses that came with the Christmas lights!" He looked at it and said "Well, if that's what is wrong, this should fix it!" He popped the new fuse in, I replaced the back. Plugged it in and it works like a charm.

Well, of course you don't shop, per se; however, you may have tripped over an aisle display of these somewhere between the bread and the paper towels (as I very nearly did).

OTOH, if you have found the secret of getting all your life-sustaining supplies* on-line (a portion of amazon.com I have overlooked, perhaps?), please share :)

*An obscure reference to cornmeal, gun powder, ham hcks, and guitar strings :)
