Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well what do you call it when the sun's on the other side of the planet? :)
Around here we call it winter, but that's another story...
And yet another story is it's still dark out, and yet the proper greeting at the moment is...
Good Morning, Hobbit Hole!

Good morning! It's warm out - 43 at this time of the morning!
And I have to drop off my van for windshield replacement in a few minutes. I hope I'm right that they give you a courtesy car, or it's kind of a long walk...in the rain...along a busy highway with no decent shoulder in some places.
Guess I'll bring a book or notebook and plan on keeping myself occupied until I can get a ride, if it turns out they don't give me a car.

You do mean 43 and not -43 right?
Good morning!
I was going to ask what you were doing up so early on a day off.. but I guess you have places to be. Good luck.
I have to pack then run to work :p
Will be leaving after work to go have TurkeyDay in Chicago with friends that are like family. They are the only thing resembling family I have within less than two days drive and I am certainly thankful for them.

Heh...yeah, I realized after I posted that a dash wasn't the best separator for a temp... ;-)
Have a great day, and safe journeys to you later!
I'm off!

Good Morning everybody.
Missed my 6:30 flight 'cause of the snow. Woke up at 4:00 and theere was already 2-3 inches on the ground so I figured I probably wouldn't make it in time. I'll try this again tomorrow.
Anyway....there's a good 4 inches on the car and I just lost a branch off the tree out front.
Stoopid weather.

Good morning everyone!

That's why I wanted the early flight. Fewer people want to fly at 6:30 in the morning.

Winter? What's winter precious?
All joking aside, down here winter remains well above the freezing mark (often not even as low as into the 40's). It is highly predictale that it will likely freeze over only twice. Three times max. And when that happens it is chaos. That is when we get all the 30 car pile ups and whatnot.

Good luck! We are headed to my mothers tonight for a jaunt to my aunt Grace's tomorrow. We are *all* cooking. I decided to make dessert. I am taking the ingredients with me to my mother's so I don't have to make it ~right now~.

Very healthy casual attitudeIndeed! Very admirable!
It's coming our way too, OT...but being further south, I doubt it'll stick. It's not even freezing out.
Still, I'm glad I don't have anywhere to go.
Good morning everyone!
