Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

If we don't have rehearsal, we'll go out. I have no idea where there's a piano bar in this town tho.
But that doesn't solve the problem. There must be merchandise.
I know whereof I speak...

Well, I am afraid I can't help much in the merchandise dept. I'd like new tools or a truck or something. I'll let the better wimmen on the thread give suggestions.

smaagee has made contact from friendly territoryHe called from a refueling stop in New Jersey at McGuire AFB.
They are on a commercial charter, but are flying into McChord, and not SeaTac. From there they'll bus him to Ft Lewis. He expects to land here about 6:30 local time. He thinks our chances of getting on base are not impossible in person, better than the answer we got over the phone, but he isn't sure.
I told him this: That we would go to the McChord gate and try, and if we failed, that we would hang out near Ft. Lewis (Galloping Gerties prolly) and wait there. He thinks if all else fails, when he gets to Ft Lewis he can meet us at the gate or come out to Gerties. I've got his box his wife sent over to give to him, and I have a cell phone number for someone in the unit and he has mine. It's a little hard to coordinate a welcoming party under these circumstances, but ecurbh and I will be there and if you locals want to come and join us we can make a moot of it.

I'd write her a poem and maybe sing a song to her at the bar with the piano...get her a gift certificate for a cleaning lady or someone to watch the kids one night so you can do something fun or romantic together...If she likes excitement, get her a certificate to skydive!
Congratulations! 18Years!

You think I'd do anything that would run the risk of me ending up as Nana's caretaker? It ain't like the other siblings would step in.
I'd get a card (maybe) sayin' "Sorry the skydiving didn't work out. And BTW, possession is 9/10 of the law..."
