Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

btw, in response to your concern over the Marine in Falujah...
I count LtGen Sattler as a friend... we are as close as a Colonel and a captain could be at the time... I trust his judgement in how to handle the situation...
the MSM needs two rounds tuh the head tho'...

I have an idea for a new video game, called "Escape from Fallujah".
In the game you are a journalist that files a wildly misleading and out of context story that slanders a good Marine just doing his job. Your mission: Get out of Fallujah alive.

[sigh] The test of the first wedded basketball season.

I'd say that the odds ain't good. Sometimes even a hundred yard dash can be a really, really long trip. :-)
or, short. Depends.

Dino is up 600+ and yah... it's close... but now I think it is becoming a downhill run for him. The bulk of the remaining ballots are in Dino-friendly counties, I think.

They keep saying that, then King county comes up with more. King updates for the last time today at 6, supposedly, so we are watching it now.

Evening.
Music night's over...time to get in a thousand words or so.
And I'm still depressed about life in general.
Heavy chocolatage would be good about now.
