Lord knows a dwarf has got to vent someplace ;~D

So that's what that is?

First hard freeze tonight and I ain't got insulation. The insulation man is supposed to take care of that next Thursday. Needless to say, I need more rugs. I've been moving and unpacking...moved muh likker this afternoon. Looks like the woodpecker has finished with my house [fingers crossed].

I am soooo stooopid sometimes. Spent the last three hours moaning that my computer's display was wrong - if I scrolled down, the redrawing was visible - and only five minutes ago said, "Duh! The audio driver wasn't installed. The network adapter driver wasn't installed. Why should the right video driver be installed?"

Five minutes later, no problem. Also, am at 11,000 words and climbing.

The downside of hardwood floors is when it's chilly....

Got some wool socks?

Nope. Just cotton.

But the floors will be warmer once there's insulation in there. Even the insulation guy said something abou a house that's been here this long with practically no insulation.

Are you doing the blow in type where they drill holes in from the outside?

I'm getting the blown in type in the attic and batts in the crawlspace and garage.

OK - but not in the walls of the house itself, it's OK?

We're not going to let little things, like moving house and total hard drive failure, stop us, are we?

As I told some of the NaNites I met for dinner the other night, "No plot, no problem - but no PC, big problem". I imagine "moving deadline" is just as big a problem...

Hey, don't worry about word count. Just write, and keep writing, because the one you do next year will be just a little better than the one you did this time...

And I start bugging for NaNoWriMo in January this time. We'll get some of the others on board, next November.

thirding the resentment about chain email from friends...

...fourthing...

...and getting it from people who you see regularly...so you delete some bit about "footprints" or "forward the text of John 3 to Congress" or some variation on "faggots and witches are about to take over your child's school" (when you're single and childless and your friends know it), and next Thursday you run into them at the groshry and they ask "did you get my e-mail?" and you have to try to remember what the blue blazes it was about this time...

Oh, and I thought "Footprints" was really cool the first 150 times I saw it...the 151st time, I thought it had run its course. That was 1981. I was wrong :(

My grandmother tries to forward things, but for some reason she does it completely wrong. What she ends up sending to the twenty people on her email list is a blank email...

Oh, and for a while she apparently thought my middle name was something completely wrong. Now she just spells it wrong. Nice to know people care, huh?

!

"She's got such a wrong middle name...would you give a girl the middle name Gustav?"

During my senior year of HS us crazy kids started calling each other by middle names and referring to teachers, entre nous, by their first names...leading to such phrases as "Harold, was there a quiz in Annie's class today?"
