Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Yah... I go round and round with people here. Exchange 5.5 (our old system that we're upgrading to Exch 2003) had a *hard* limit of 2GB for total mailbox size. Not a setting... but a limitation of the server software. Couldn't handle a mailbox any bigger.
Now, where I come from, 2GB is a lot of stuff. I keep virtually all my mail and more than a year at a time, and still my mailbox is only a couple hundred megs. I cannot fathom people with sloppy habits like this that can fill up Gigs after just a few months.
But still they whine and moan about mail not working after we tell them and tell them and tell them. your... mailbox... is... full... you... must... archive... your... old... mail... then... your... mail... will... work... again...
'but i need to send this 100MB movie to my client right now'.
"aaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh". [bang] [thud]
BTW, I just got it yesterday, so I haven't watched it. But I got the "Office Space" DVD.
I still need to see that.
I gotsa copy of that. Big fun in there... :-)
WTH kinda movies they sendin?...
Had a crazy boss once with extremely long hair (down past her butt). Our favorite fantasy was to think about tying it in a knot and putting it down the garbage disposal so we could watch her bang her head on the sink until she was gone...
heh heh... figured yuh did...
LOL! Holy cow, what a visual!
*sniff*... that's jest beautiful...
Hang onto it. We may need it yet.
yeah... I like it even better than my ".22 subsonic hollowpoints make great head pizza" line...
classic...
Ugh...I gotta get to bed or I'll be useless in the morning! Or even more so than usual...
Good night all!
Actually... they do send movies all the time. And powerpoint files with embedded video in the slides.
Mostly they are tests or experiment footage. crash tests, stuff blowing up or catching fire. Some of it is pretty dang cool.
It's aggravating from an IT perspective, though. This internet we have was designed in the days when a floppy disk of 1.4M was considered rather a lot of stuff. Now we're pushed thousands of times more packets than anybody ever thought.
Sure, you can drop a V-8 in a Beetle, and it'll go fast, but its really hard on the transmission. :-)
Oooo ... just found some for $24.99!
<counting pennies!>
kewl...
g'nite evlybody
OK, NOW I'm going to bed.
IwantIwantIwant...
Hmm... interesting choice. One of the very few truly silence-able cartridges.
'pfff pfff...'
Don't you just ~love~ those e-mails that co-workers send around that say "pass this on to 10 people and something great will happen"? Or "Do not delete or you will have bad luck for a zillion years"?
And my personal favorite..."forward this and $1 will be sent to < insert charity org here >".*groan*
However, I do delight in replying to all whenever I receive an urban legend being passed around and get to copy and paste the appropriate snopes link to refute it. Makes the sender think twice before sending anything with my name in the CC list. *grin*
You might want to check your power settings ... go to Start > Settings > System > Brightness first, and make sure all is sensible there, then click on the "Power Settings" link and make sure you're happy with the settings there.
