Frankiln Co. has been soooo DEM the past few years, you'd think we're from NYC or Philly. However, I have and voted this morning for a Conservative Democrat, Jim Long, for insurance commissioner of NC. He has been doing an outstanding job for the people of NC for many years. You show me a Dem like Zell Miller and I'll definitely pay attention to what he says and does. I'm registered GOP too.

Excellent to hear that news.....if fraud is minimal and Red turn out high in the swing states.....hopefully W stays put to complete the business in Iraq and fill the federal bench with conservative judges who will never legislate from the bench!

Franklin County is north of Raleigh. You are correct about the Blue Ridge being infiltrated by many fuzzy warm liberals.... the price of land around Asheville and Boone is out of sight.

Lindsey's out visiting pole sites. Majority are saying they voted for Bush. Some saying they split the rest of the ticket, thats good for Cumberland County.
Cumberland went for Gore by a few hundred last time, we may just pull this out for Bush.
Majority are also voting against Ammendments # 1, # 2 and # 3.

They appear to be (at least in this office). There were a lot of people who stayed quiet and didn't engage in political conversation holding their cards pretty close to their chests. It appears that virtually everyone has voted and those that have not were planning on going later. I was leaning towards about a 30-70 Rep/Dem split in this office. After the conversations this morning, I'm thinking it's actually about 60-40 Rep/Dem.

EEEEEwwwww!!!!!! You are surrounded by lots of Libs? Thanks for keeping your ears peeled....if OBL supports Kerry....what should an American think?
No wonder your screen name reflects one of the best places in the state to relax and catch something to eat.....Ocracoke (sp?) was one of the best kept secrets until about 25 years ago....

In my rural Edgecombe County precinct, I waited almost 1-1/2 hours.
I was in line at 6:30 hoping to beat the crowds, but I guess everyone else had that idea too.

Interesting....guess conservatives may seriously realize what is at stake for this great nation in this election and wanted to make sure they got their vote in. (I did too) Been with the same company 20 yrs. and all my bosses now and in the past know what I do the first Tuesday of November. One made an issue a few years ago and I told him to go and worry about something else that day in the company. His mouth hit the floor then and I laughed an told him with a laugh and a big smile that I know I canceled his votes that morning even though he was going to leave early to go vote.
LMAO...what a dweeb

It could be worse, I could have still been working in downtown Durham. The ratio was more like 10 to my 1. And those weren't just Democrats, they were extreme left wing radical whack jobs. Half of my old office might STILL be up on the street corner on Main Street protesting the war. They would go up there Saturday morning and stand around with sign in one hand and a cup of Fowler's coffee in the other and discuss George Bush's attempt to take over the world.
"Because this war is not about saving Iraqis or killing terrorists, this war is a small but important step in a sinister plot to total world domination and George Bush is just a stupid clueless pawn being used by the REAL EVIL GUYS like Richard Pearle and Paul Wolfowitz, you just wait!!!"
In all seriousness, this was the ranting, not of a student but, a theology professor at Duke University.

Wooowwwwww!!! You have my regards on having to make a living in that environment. We both know the troubles the city of Durham has had in the last year over key political positions and those holding them being fired.
Some Libs get so frighteningly whacked out that logic and reality leave them when anything in the world or this country blows holes in their views of a Utopian society, socialism, and possibly threatens their warm fuzzy feelings.
