I went to walmart to get some and ended up buying smarties and dum dums. Just a little while ago I realized what I did....I bought Republican and Democrat candy. I will have to ask the kids (if any come) whether they like Bush or Kerry...and if they like Bush they get Smarties. If they pick Kerry they get the dum dum suckers. Appropriate right?

Last night, (Saturday) our neighbors kids came by to pass out candy for us. Their parents were recently divorced and they were not going to go trick or treating. We heard in our community most people would go on Sunday but a few came by anyway. At one point, I jokingly told them as they passed out candy to tell the kids "Vote Bush". They did and all the kids said OK, except the ones who stared blankly at them.

Tonight we were hit by an assault of at least 200 kids. Some were really cute and polite, others were 12 years plus, wearing street clothes and holding Wal-Mart Bags. As the evening went on, we saw less and less costumes. Only about 4, and I'm not exaggerating, were able to speak fluent English. It's 8:PM here and I finally told the wife to shut off the light....We're only increasing what we'll pay for their Dental Care.

Damn, I'm jaded.
