This is pretty creepy, even if you don't really believe in ghosts. Here are a bunch of sound clips taken from haunted houses and graveyards, etc.

Happy Halloween!

This is just a bit of fun. Even if you don't believe in ghosts, and I don't, these sound files may make you think differently.

These ghost "hunters" go around and make sound recordings in graveyards, "haunted" houses, etc., then play back their tapes, and find audio anomolies that *seem* to sound like voices--which the investigators did *not* hear with the naked ear. They call this an Electronic Voice Phenomenon." (Remember "Sixth Sense"?)

Go to http://www.ghostwave.com/Ughs2.html to hear some of these rather creepy sounds. Some are hard to hear, some are clear as a bell. Here are direct links to some of the better ones:

http://www.ghostwave.com/kathy2.wav “I’ll be right back” (child)
http://www.ghostwave.com/ffield1.wav “Muchas Gracias”
http://www.ghostwave.com/9699-6.wav “hello” whisper
http://www.ghostwave.com/91998-9.wav “Elizabeth”
http://www.ghostwave.com/25may5.wav “Let me help you”
http://www.ghostwave.com/25may9.wav “Watch what you say”
http://www.ghostwave.com/Mc3.wav “Busted!” (after police car passes cemetery)
http://www.ghostwave.com/Imsad.wav “Oh, I’m sad”
http://www.ghostwave.com/Salem1.wav “Hey, you little b---h”
http://www.ghostwave.com/bedead.wav “I’m supposed, supposed to be dead”
http://www.ghostwave.com/91199.wav “Out. Get out. Get out of my house”

What, are you listening to Art Bell's show on "EVP"s ?? They are strange things ... I've made 'em myself, by mistake. I don't know what they are, but I doubt they're really ghosts.

These sounds aren't half as scary as those emanating from a public toilet. Those noises my friend seem to come from the holy other and can attack if one is not fast the other senses.

I never listen to Art Bell.

I don't believe in ghosts, as I said, But I'd be hard-pressed to come up with an explanation for some of these.

Back around 1982 my best friend's folks bought an enormous Victorian mansion in Franklin N.H. It was one owned by the mayor of the town and there are 2 beautiful tiffany stained glass windows of the young lady who was the mayor's daughter, she died in her youth and has haunted the house ever since. My friend's mom says that pots will fly off the wall in the kitchen and that furniture will be rearranged by no one.
When they bought this mansion in 1982 it had sat empty for many years, it has over 5 acres of land, an indoor basketball court, indoor shuffleboard court 1800's primitive air conditioning and a ballroom on the top floor.
There was also a room on the 3rd floor that was painted blood red with black trim. All in all it was a beautiful house but creepy at the same time.
