Paypal apologies (vanity)
email and web site | 27 Oct 04 | paypal

Posted on 10/27/2004 6:09:35 PM PDT by Lokibob

Recently, the PayPal site had technology issues that may have hindered your ability to conduct business using PayPal.

To show our appreciation for your continued business, we're going to credit you for PayPal transaction fees incurred on October 28, 2004, between 12:00:00 AM PDT and 11:59:59 PM PDT.

You don't need to do anything to receive your credit. We'll add up the transaction fees you accumulate, and send a credit to your PayPal account by November 25, 2004.

Oh. That's different. Maybe I should put up about a million one-day "immediate payment only" listings.

I guess now's the time for me to put that customized-made pipe organ of mine up for sale with a "buy it now" price of $600,000. And the buyer must pay before Midnight tomorrow. PayPal only.

That would save you a fortune. LOL

30 cents plus 2.9 % of $600,000 = $17,400.30

I love immediate pay only under certain circumstances, like if I'm going on vacation and can't wait for stragglers.

I wish they would allow it on international auctions though. I always wind up with frustrated europeans who want to buy stuff.

Speaking of which, I don't think there's a word in any european language for the phrase "this will be declared to customs for the full value of the lot".

Notice that they delayed the announcement till 4 hours before the starting time. That prevents people from putting a 1 day auction up on Ebay.

For a lousy nickle, a BIN with immediate pay is the best value on ebay.

Assume the BIN price is $5.00 over the opening auction price, you only need 1 customer in 100 to push BIN to make a profit on the listing fee.

"That prevents people from putting a 1 day auction up on Ebay."

You can still use "buy it now" with immediate payment, though, for a fixed price sale.

True, True.

LOL, just had a customer do a BIN and paid! First time I have ever said "CRAP, I wish he had waited till after midnight".

BTW, if ebay university gives a seminar near you, by all means go to it. The ebay univ seminar cost me $39.00 last month, and from what I learned, I increased my sales $500 this month alone.
