I've tried drinking black coffee in a black cup.
It's a bad combination, leading to spills and burned lips. You can't tell where the cup ends and the coffee begins.
I think it makes the coffee evaporate too quickly, also.

A white cup is esthetically pleasing....also, you can tell when it has coffee stains:)
