Why this must NOT be a close election!

Posted on 10/24/2004 5:15:47 PM PDT by Froggie

The election of 2004 is much more than the election of the next President of the United States. It is the message we, the American People, are sending the world. It reflects the will, heart, and determination of our collective souls. The result will give an unequivocal signal to those who wish us harm, and to those who stand passively on the sideline of this war on terror. It will show the cloth of which we are made! A close, contested, fractious result will embolden our enemies, weaken the support of the already weak, and give pause to those who have been our staunchest allies. "If the American people don't support the actions of this president and his effort to control, if not eliminate terror - why should we? Perhaps the American people believe it is "the wrong war and the wrong time!" A clear and definitive statement MUST be made, in unequivocal terms, that this war is the right war, at the right time - though neither were of our choosing. Just as the young soldier, sailor and airman has courageously taken the oath of induction to fight for America and the free world, now, the American voter is being called to arms! We Must answer that call! It is our duty, our responsibility, and our priviledge. We owe this to all Americans, past and future; we owe this to those who have given their lives for freedom in this war and others; we owe this to all freedom-loving people. To those who question why this duty is given to Americans, the reply is simple. If we do not take up this mantle, no one will, and freedom and democracy world-wide will be in peril. We must send the message, loud and clear, that we stand with you, Mr. President. Let no nation nor rogue state, nor terrorist group doubt the resolve of the American people. Let the world hear our voice as our ballots affirm that we still hold to those principles so proudly proclaimed almost 44 years ago: "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty". Though the leaders of the party of John F. Kennedy have forgotten, the American people have not and will not! Our voice will be heard - let us pray there is no equivocation!

Its even worse than that. A close election will severely test our Democracy/Resolve as a Nation. When countries become divided to this degree, then civil war is imminent, anarchy will break out and a dictator will come into power.

We truly are living in perilous times and once the division begins, there will be no turning back.

The one true thing that has always kept our democracy/republic safe from take over is our individual right to vote for our leaders. Once that is destroyed, taken away or nullified by voter fraud, then we all lose.
