My family's hooked.
"Survivor" meets "Predator" meets "Peyton Place."
Good show.
I absolutely love Lost and am completely obsessed with finding out what the heck is up with that island. A few of my friends have some theories but we're not all that sure about any of them. The frustrating part about the whole thing is that there are NO LEAKS from the set of this show, or very few in comparison to other shows. Perhaps that is because there are so few extras. But, usually I like to read some spoilers because I'm nosy and have zero patience. For some reason, no one is leaking any spoilers for Lost, or any spoilers worth anything.
I love your Bush-bot stuff!! I totally agree with you on that one. There are plenty of them on FR and they drive me crazy from time to time.
I've never seen "Peyton Place" but I can see the first two! :-D
Check out this page if you dare!
P.S. And thank you. I'm glad my page "tickled" you too. :-)
The Peyton Place comment is right. I would find the show much more enjoyable if I were watching how people I can relate to are dealing with their predicament. With most shows the trick is to get your audience hooked by having characters they can relate to. I can't relate to any of these people.
I'll give it a few more weeks.
Besides, who is to say what anyone would do in such a hellish situation? From the vantagepoint of our comfy sofas, we think we know what *should* be done. But would we actually do it? I hope never to have to find out, but it's food for thought.
I think the show is refreshing. I can relate much better to the characters in "Lost" than, say, the stunningly depraved characters in "Desperate Housewives".
Some co-workers told me about it - I didn't think I'd like it, but I snagged a copy of the pilot, watched it, and I was hooked.
They've left so many things unexplained that I think they can keep everyone in suspense and watching for the whole season, if not more: Where did the polar bear and boars come from, not to mention the unseen monster, what's the deal with the years-old looping distress signal, why was that woman *really* being extradited back to the U.S., etc, etc.
Plus, with 46(?) people left, they got plenty of, uh, "expendable" characters...
I think the boars are believeable, just because we have them on Hawaii; but someone *would* have had to bring them over. Re. the polar bears, I have no clue. :-D
Yes, I was disappointed they didn't reveal why Kate was under federal custody. But it seems like they might explore that further in the next episode.
Also, what was up with Jack's dad, and why did Jack bash up the coffin? Is his dad really alive?
"Lost" tonight! :-)
Comments? Q's?
Last night's episode was probably the weakest so far, but it was still interesting. I appreciate the time spent on character development of the Koreans!
But wouldn't it have made more sense if one group of people on rotating shifts remained on the beach at all times to watch for planes, while the others kept close to the water?
Also, I'm having a bit of a fear that Jack is homosexual. That wouldn't be good.
Okay, it's been a very exciting past few days, but surely I'm not the only FReeper still watching "Lost"?
Merry was featured tonight. Er, I mean Dominic Monaghan, the actor who played Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. :-)
(Random thought: What kind of drug was he supposed to be addicted to? Whatever it was, it wasn't a white powder, which they usually show on TV and in movies. But I guess that's not really important....)
I'm intrigued by the blonde fellow who likes Kate. What turned him into such a paradoxically likeable jerk?

I don't know either, but maybe if "Lost" was on at 10 pm instead of 8, it would be a little less vague. Actually, keeping the identity of whatever it is unknown is for the best - it kept the focus on the character.
The show is slowing down a bit, but they still leave us all hanging. I guess the big question is: Who hit Sayid over the head while he was searching for the source of the radio transmission.
And dang it, I still want to know where the polar bear came from.
I think it was that surly blonde-haired fellow. Hopefully it *wasn't* a polar bear. :-D
And yep, the show does seem to be "slowing" a bit, altho' I'm still quite eagerly watching it.
I bump this thread every Wednesday, hoping for more interest. Thanks for stopping by again! :-)
Pretty powerful last episode.
Well, I was wrong--it wasn't Sawyer who hit Sayid over the head after all. Based on the preview for next week's show, it was probably a hitherto unknown shaggy-haired man who lays traps in the jungle and will soon capture and torture Sayid. (The story will no doubt flash in an out of Sayid's background as a former Republican guardsman--I'm looking forward to that.)
Hi. Im also a big fan of the TV series "LOST".
Ever thought maybe they all died in the plane crash and the one's in the island are actually in purgatory? Needing to fight there own past? Just a thought.
I like Joan of Arcadia.
Utterly and irrevocably addicted. Hurry up, 7:00.
