I think you are fooling yourself if you think there is no "Ignorant Christian Right". I consider myself part if the Christian right but there are a VERY FEW, I believe, Christians who would want to take Cheney off the ticket because his daughter is a lesbian. I also believe Kerry screwed up by mentioning it because he will lose far more votes than he will gain. The mushy middle folks hate dirty politics.

See my #95. I basically agree with you. I wish Cheney had a clue about homosexuality, which he evidently doesn't -- but having said that, I LOVE the man, and am SO glad he's VP. He was an excellent choice, brilliant, and I've been glad of it countless times.
Two of those times were watching him absolutely clean Lieberman's clock in 2000, and watching him inexorably school that twit Edwards in 2004. Great man; too bad about his spiritual/moral vision. So we should pray for him, AND his wife and daughter -- not commit electoral suicide.
