She said "In Ted we trust."
This is such an odd story. It is as if Kerry's mother spoke to us from the grave and confirmed our misgivings about his character. Most mothers would congratulate and encourage a son who came to them with the news that they were embarking on an ambitious career move. Instead, Kerry's mother chided him-- integrity, integrity, integrity. It indicates that she knew her son and knew his weaknesses. She had tried to teach him the meaning of integrity all of his life, but he had not learned. She was still trying on her death bed.
